If people would only take time to understand

Everyday somebody complains that the government is not taking the right actions or that our government is insufficient and that they are accomplishing nothing. But what people fail to realize is that being a politician is not easy. They are in charge of the entire country and it is impossible to please everybody. Not one person has the exact same opinions as another. Our national government does what they think is best for the country. Although I know and understand that some politicians have alterative motives most go in with an idea that they are going to do what is best for the country.
I feel that before a person has the right to critic they need to understand how the system works and why a politician voted the way they did. People need to also understand what it is that the politician is voting on. Everybody has an opinion but the opinion is more valid if the person truly understands what it is about. It reminds me of the way people vote. Half of America goes and votes for the party that they associate themselves with without taking a good look at the candidates opinions, beliefs and what he plans to do. So in the end does America really know who they are voting for?
This brings me to the topic of political parties REPUBLICAN or DEMOCRAT? I think that there should definitely be more political parties to choose from. Like I said earlier everyone has different opinions and we are all not going to fall perfectly in group or another. I also believe that people should have more respect for other people’s opinions and beliefs. No one said that you have to believe something else but you do have to respect it. Again the worlds not perfect and I know I am thinking like I young naive girl but you can not tell me that would not be awesome. If your not republican or Democrat it becomes hard for your opinion to be spoken and accepted. I would love for an independent party’s nominee to be president but realistically that not going to happen.
In conclusion I want more political parties and for people to take time to understand our law making system called our government.

  1. "The future is startling"

I first want to say is I agree with this argument for the most part. The things I agree with is the part about how people are allowed to have their own opinion, but I feel like some should just keep it to themselves. I agree that it would be nice to have more then two parties to choice from. The thing that I do not agree with and am very concern about is the quick to protect those politicians when not really knowing if they are doing what is best for our country. Not sure what this writers background is but I remember a year or two ago when the house of Texas got together to make their votes on bills and other issues, but for some members they felt like they did not need to go. Therefore, they have their key to their desk which controls there votes. So for those that where there voting they would vote the way they wanted to, so how is that doing everything to make the country better. What a great example to those under them which is pretty much everyone in the country. I mean how can you sit there and stick up for them. I do believe a lot of them go it with good intensions but you get sucked in the evil just overwhelms those good and descent beliefs but they soon fade away. Just like those good old boys that join the military. First you good and have your morals but then you rise up in the ranks and fine ways to find the easy way out and the fastest way to make a buck. Therefore, I would have to disagree when you say for people not to give these politicians crap because truthfully, they cannot satisfy everyone but they will make sure they are and that is just the way it goes.

  2. If people would only take time to understand. This article takes the side of the politicians. Politicians do not fight for the people of this country. This is not a new thing; it’s probably been going on since the beginning. I believe that the politicians would sell there own kids to get reelected or just ignore them. Take Dick Cheney for instance the Republican Party would not let his daughter on stage during the Presidential election, because she is gay. John Edwards another one of our great senators cheated on his dying wife.. I do believe politicians in the beginning think they could better this country. But Power breeds greed and more power. It is human nature to want more. Politicians are masters of there craft. There like used car sales persons. You want the Toyota and there selling you the Ferrari.
Take John McCain for instance. When he goes to place like Kansas all he talks about is God, gun control, and abortion. When the same John McCain goes to lets say Oregon. He has this new idea for a battery that will be safe for the environment. He talks about saving the planet, recycling, and lowering admissions. Then the next week he’s drilling off the coast of Alaska killing the animals and the planet. They are paid to tell you what you want to here and that’s that.
I do agree with having more political parties other than the Republican and Democratic Party. Having multiple parties would keep people honest. A person could follow the animal or environmental party. Maybe more would get done in congress. Just so we do not think I am a complete hater. Vice President Joe Biden although I know he is not perfect. He still stands for things that are great in our country. He never let the office get to him. His family lives a fairly normal life in Delaware. His kids are in the military and he fights hard for the troops.
Politicians are the elite in our country they do not send there kids to fight wars. They believe that there to good for that. They are the elite of our country they do not care about you or me. All they care about is getting elected.
